JUDY`S PARADISE

It is now five years since Judy’s Paradise opened and they are still going strong, growing at a steady pace. The Home has accommodated 23 children with disabilities, mainly with Cerebral Palsy, from different villages in Limpopo Province and has been awarded with PLATINUM as the best Care Centre by the Department of Social Development in August 2006.

Their main problem is a lack of accommodation as the house that they are operating from is, with the increase of the number of children, not big enough and they end up putting children in need of their service on a waiting list.

THOBELA CENTRE

Thobela Centre was established on 14 January 2002.  Ms. Theresa Kekana was previously involved with Mahwelereng Centre of Hope as volunteer, but joined Thobela Centre with Suzan Mogashoa and Dorah Mokgopo as volunteers.

The project started with 5 clients.  They rented a four roomed house when they started but in July 2002 the Induna provided them with their own site.  They used a two roomed shack for years and paid the next-door house for water.

Thobela Centre affiliated with APD Limpopo in 2003/2004.  The Dept. of Social Development was involved in organizing the building project for their new centre with money provided by the Flemish Government.

The project is situated at Stand no. 126, Block 9, Ga-Madiba, Mahwelereng (PO Box 1986, Mahwelereng, 0626), Waterberg Municipal District.  Contact person: The Coordinator, Ms Suzan Mogashoa.  Tel: 072 623 0532
